Flash Flood Warning Miami

South Florida Flash Flood Warnings

Heavy Rains Hit Miami-Dade and Broward Counties

Miami-Dade and Broward counties in South Florida are facing flash flood warnings as heavy bands of rain move through the area. The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a Flash Flood Warning for much of metro Miami-Dade and Broward, including coastal areas north of Coral Reef Drive.

Flooding Causes Road Closures and Transportation Delays

The heavy rains have caused major flooding, leading to road closures and stranding vehicles. A portion of Interstate 95 was closed in Broward County, and several other roads have been affected. Airports in the region have also experienced delays and cancellations due to the weather.

Additional Flash Flood Warnings in Effect

In addition to the existing warnings, another flash flood warning has been issued for portions of Miami-Dade until 8 pm. Four flash flood warnings are currently in effect for different areas of Miami-Dade and Broward, indicating that flash flooding is possible or already occurring.

Warnings Urge Residents to Take Precautions

The NWS urges residents in affected areas to take precautions and avoid driving through flooded roadways. Rainfall rates of several inches per hour have been reported, leading to submerged streets and dangerous conditions. Residents are advised to stay informed and follow instructions from local authorities.
