Novelis Reports Strong First Quarter Results

Adjusted Earnings Before Interest Increased 3%

Rolled Product Shipments Up 8% Year-Over-Year

Atlanta-based aluminum rolling and recycling company Novelis Inc. today reported strong first quarter results for its fiscal year 2025. Total flat rolled product shipments increased by 8% to 951 kilotonnes compared to the same period last year. Adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) increased by 3% to $421 million compared to the first quarter of fiscal year 2024.

The company attributed the increase in shipments to higher demand from the automotive, beverage can, and building and construction sectors. Novelis also benefited from higher product pricing, which helped to offset the impact of lower shipments. Adjusted EBITDA was driven by higher product pricing, which was partially offset by lower shipments and higher costs.

"We are pleased with our strong first quarter results, which reflect the continued execution of our strategy to grow our business and improve our profitability," said Steve Fisher, President and CEO of Novelis. "We remain focused on meeting the growing demand for aluminum products from our customers around the world."
