The Early Years

Born on November 19, 1963, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Terry Farrell began her career as a fashion model at the age of 15. She later moved to New York City to pursue acting, landing small roles in television shows such as "Quantum Leap" and "The X-Files".

Star Trek: Deep Space Nine

Farrell's breakthrough came in 1993 when she was cast as Jadzia Dax in the television series "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine". The character was a Trill, a species that hosts symbiotic beings called Dax, which allows them to live for centuries and retain the memories and experiences of previous hosts. As Dax, Farrell played a brilliant and compassionate science officer and became a fan favorite.

Farrell's portrayal of Jadzia Dax was praised for its depth and realism. She brought to life a character who was both strong and vulnerable, intelligent and passionate.
